Heaven has gained a beautiful angel. Although we all will miss Vera Lynn dearly, we have peace knowing that she is in heaven with her husband, Joe Lynn, twin sons Jeffrey Jay and Kevin Gary, as well as other family members that passed before her. Vera Lynn passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, August 24th, with her son Dale and granddaughter Lisa by her side.
Vera was born outside of Weskan, Kansas to Henry "Hank" & Gladys (Akers) Dizmang. Vera loved her large family of 12 which included 6 brothers and 5 sisters. Following high school she met her future husband Joe Lynn and they married February 6, 1953 in Goodland, Kansas. They moved to Longmont in May of 1962 where they raised their family. Vera enjoyed many years in the banking industry, working for both Longmont National Bank and United Bank. Vera has been a dedicated long time member of Longmont Christian Church (Lifebridge). She happily served in many different ways for the church. She loved her church family more than they will ever know. Vera also was very dedicated to her PEO group for many years. Whether it was at fundraisers, luncheons, or evening gatherings she made it a point to be at every one. Vera also volunteered countless hours as a "pink lady" for Longmont United Hospital and she enjoyed every minute of it.
When she wasn't busy doing all of these other things, she loved to fish and camp with friends and family. Vera's family & friends meant everything to her, and she loved you all dearly. The love and support that each one of you have shown our sweet Vera over the years made her feel truly blessed. She will be missed beyond belief. Vera is survived by her daughter Vicky (Jim) Borst, son Dale E Lynn, 3 grandchildren Troy (Kelly) Borst, Nicole (Nitin) Dhaon, and Lisa (Rusty) Jenkins, 4 great grandchildren Abby, Nate, & Ian Borst, and Sam Dhaon.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at Lifebridge Christian Church. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Longmont. Please visit www.howemortuary.com to share memories and condolences with the family.
